With the launch of the new Adobe Stock Contributor Site, it’s never been easier to showcase and sell your photos, videos, vectors and illustration in a stock marketplace. Adobe Stock integrates with Creative Cloud applications, giving buyers access to Stock assets directly inside their apps. If you’re curious or ready to take the plunge into stock photography, here’s a cheatsheet on how to get started with Adobe Stock.
1. Sign Up
The first and simplest step is to sign up for an account on Adobe Stock. It’s free and you don’t need to be a Creative Cloud subscriber to join. You can set up your profile with a bio and social links, so your Adobe Stock page can double as your portfolio!
Dig up your old photos, videos, or illustrations that are gathering dust and give them new life! Adobe Stock gives you access to millions of buyers, so you can imagine the range and diversity of content they’re looking for.
You can upload as many or as few assets as you’d like, and you must be the sole owner of your submissions. If your images or videos feature a recognizable person, place, or property, you’ll need to submit model or property release as well. You can find all the forms and additional information you need on the Adobe Stock Contributor Help site.
If you’re uploading photos, our state of the art auto-tagging feature will generate keywords to save you time and effort. The auto-tagging feature does a visual analysis of your images, compares it to our database of similar images, and will give you 5 recommended keywords. It’s up to you to arrange these keywords in the order of importance.
Once you submit your images, our moderation team will review them to make sure that they meet the technical, legal and artistic standards we’ve established and promised our customers.
5. Get paid
You’ll receive notification when you’re images have been approved and are available for sale. For every image licensed, you’ll receive 33% royalties and 35% for videos. Actual payout will depend on the price of the image paid by the buyer but our minimum price guarantee ensures that our contributors are always fairly compensated.
Now you’re in business! Show off your new Adobe Stock portfolio to your friends and family and read up on how to improve your chances of success in the industry on the Adobe Stock blog.
