overview

They say that in a decades time, we will be 3D printing most of the the pieces we need for our homes instead of going out and buying them! 3D printing has started to evolve into a next-generation manufacturing technology and although still in its infancy in South Africa, will in the coming years radically transform many design and production processes. Get to grips with the technology that’s going to revolutionise the way we live, create, and consume, all  while having bucket-loads of fun!

what will i learn?

Learn how to create models of objects, interior design and architectural environments, basic mechanical shapes and parts from zero!, then send this to a 3D printer to create a physical working prototype ready for presentation! You will also learn how to source pre-created objects like free smart-phone cases, living accessories and toys, and then prepare and print these on a 3d printer. Learn the techniques to prepare the 3D printer, understand printer ‘resolution’ and speed settings, bed levelling techniques and preparation, to achieve the best quality 3D print!
